The Cherryville Community Food & Resources provides monthly hampers that support low-income families, singles, seniors, and people with disabilities. In addition, we offer a weekly drop-in service where anyone in the Cherryville community can access food regardless of income or financial stability. We have an Organic Community Garden that has been in operation since 2017 that has benefited our community substantially, promoting food security and the value of giving back to the community. We value the importance of providing fresh, healthy food options and between our Organic Garden and our connections with food providers we can offer this on a consistent basis. We also support local programs such as the Elementary School Milk Program and Hot Lunch Program, Seniors’ Suppers, DVM Summer Youth Camps, and any other local group who may need food for their events or activities. “If we have it, we give it!”

Our organization has a growing vision for expanding community services and resources. We value creating opportunities for our community members, and generating employment and volunteer opportunities for locals. We hire local youth to maintain our community garden each summer and most recently we have added another employment opportunity for an eligible summer student to work at the food bank. In 2020 we launched senior services consisting of check-ins, at-home visits, and some transportation. We also launched a pre-made meal program where anyone 65+ residing in Cherryville area can purchase a meal for 5.00 once a month. This has been a huge success!  We now have a community outreach worker available Wednesdays and Fridays to provide information and referral, support with filling out applications/documents, and volunteer coordination. We value community building opportunities and strive to maintain long-lasting partnerships to best support our community. We hope to expand our reach to all Cherryville residents and to tailor supports and services to meet the most identified needs.

We welcome any individual or group who would like to support our organization,  either through volunteering or personal donations. Check out our donation page or give us a call to inquire about volunteering opportunities. PHONE: 250-547-0089
